How much does mowing cost?

$30 per yard for standard mowing on yards up to 5,000 sq ft. Larger yards add $10 for every additional 2,500 sq ft. Edge trimming is an optional add-on priced at one-third of the mow price ($10 minimum, scales with yard size).

What about dog waste pickup?

Stanley's sister Hattie runs a separate pickup service called HattiePicksItUp. Pricing starts at $12 per visit for one dog, $16 for two, $20 for three or more. Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Same family, same neighborhood, billed separately so each kid earns their own.

What area do you serve?

We serve the Des Moines, Iowa area, primarily the North of Grand neighborhood in Polk County. Outside of that we'll consider on a case-by-case basis.

How do I get a quote?

Enter your address on our homepage and we'll calculate a price based on your yard size using county records and satellite data. No phone call, no estimator visit.

How often will Stanley mow?

Subscriptions run 1, 2, 3, or 4 times per month. 2x is the most common cadence for a typical yard. Subscriptions get a 10% discount versus pay-per-mow.

Can I pick which days of the week I want my lawn mowed?

Yes. When you sign up, you can pick any combination of weekdays as your preferred days. Stanley does up to 2 yards a day, so he confirms the actual day after seeing how the week shapes up — but he respects your request whenever it works. You can also leave a timing note ("dog out at 10am, gate latch sticks") that he sees right before your mow.

Can I see Stanley's availability?

Yep, the schedule page shows the next two weeks at a glance — open days, partial days, full days, and any days Stanley's out (baseball game, school event, vacation). No customer names or addresses, just open vs. closed.

Can I request a specific date for my next mow?

Sign in to your dashboard at stanmowing.com/account (passwordless — we email you a sign-in link). From there you can pick a specific date for your next mow as long as Stanley's not booked or out that day. Stanley sees customer-requested dates highlighted in his schedule.

What does my customer dashboard show?

At stanmowing.com/account you'll see your current plan and price, your last mow and your next mow, before-and-after photos of every visit, your receipts, and toggles to change how you want to be notified after each mow (email, text, both, or none).

Will I get photos after each mow?

Yes. As soon as Stanley finishes, he snaps a "before" and "after" photo on his phone. They land in your inbox (or as a text — your choice) within a couple seconds. Every photo is also saved to your dashboard so you can scroll through your visit history any time.

What if Stanley's schedule changes?

If Stanley adds an absence (baseball tournament, family trip) that overlaps your mow, our system automatically pushes you to the next preferred day and emails you the new date. You don't have to do anything.

How do payments work?

Secure checkout via Stripe. Your card is charged when you accept the offer, and on the same day each month for ongoing service. Cancel anytime from the receipt email or your dashboard.

Who runs StanMowing?

StanMowing is operated by Stanley Hill, age 12, under the supervision of his parent and legal guardian, Michael Hill. It's a StanHattie LLC company.

Are you insured?

Yes. StanHattie LLC carries General Liability and Errors & Omissions insurance. Verify coverage.

What if it rains on a scheduled day?

Stanley reschedules to the next dry day. No extra charge.
